In each of the mini block books you can dance along with Stripy Horse, twist and shake with Roly and Pitch, fly away with Muriel or follow Hermann’s trusty nose… And after you’ve read the books you can stack them like building blocks or put them together to make a little jigsaw on the back! We love it!

The little library is published in July- not long now!

We’re off on an egg hunt this weekend and Karen’s been doing some stripy horse egg decorating in preparation! The eggs are fun to make, so why not try for yourselves and post pictures of them on the new Stripy Horse Facebook page?

To make Roly and Pitch, paint eggs then glue on paper beaks, feet and wings. Pop paper hats on their heads to finish.

For Stripy Horse, paint stripes on your egg then glue on paper legs arms and head.

Firstly hello to everyone at Redriff Primary School in Rotherhithe. Karen had a lovely time with you all on Monday – thank you Sarah and Jo!

And we’ve just got back from Corpus Christi Primary School in Brixton where the pupils and teachers were all dressed up for World Book Day. We’ve never seen so many ‘Dorothys’, ‘Harry Potters’ and ‘Where’s Wallys’! Thank you all for making us so welcome, especially Cat O’Neill and of course Miss Emily Peapod Longstocking and Sir Connor Brave-Apple, who posed beautifully for Karen to draw.

The cards feature illustrations from Stripy Horse’s adventures inside and out – and Karen even drew some specially for the range too. Last week we galloped up to the Spring Fair in Birmingham, where the cards went on show for the first time…

We’ll pass on more news about the cards as soon as we can – hopefully they should be available to buy very soon…

Happy 2012 everyone! We’ve been busying away this month with lots of new Stripy things, more news on these soon.

We saw lots of fairies, superheroes and pirates on a recent school visit to celebrate book week and read ‘Oh, No, Monster Tomato!’ to get everyone into the Halloween spirit.

Last night there were lots of pumpkin lanterns on our street (like the one above) so Happy Halloween and hello to everyone at St Joseph’s School in Camberwell, it was lovely to meet you all!

We’re taking part in the Word Up Festival at Alleyn’s school in Dulwich on Saturday 22nd October. Our event has just sold out, but there are lots more fantastic interviews and readings from other authors and illustrators, including Jaqueline Wilson, Judith Kerr, Andy Stanton and the amazing John Hegley (if you haven’t seen him before do get a ticket!) – more details and a programme can be found here.

For fans of non-stripy horses, author Michael Morpurgo will also be talking to Clare Balding about his book ‘War Horse’ ahead of the new exhibition at the National Army Museum.
